Impact Hydrogen BV founded

Founded by CEO Nienke Homan (former regional state secretary who led the realisation of HEAVENN) and Managing Director Sharon Becker, headquartered in Groningen with project coordination teams across Africa, Europe, and India, working on developing Sustainable Hydrogen Valleys.

HEAVENN research for RVO

HEAVENN integrates hydrogen production, storage, distribution and end-use across six sites in the Northern Netherlands, backed by €20M from the EU's Clean Hydrogen Partnership. Impact Hydrogen supported the roadmap and planning work underpinning this Hydrogen Valley.

Puertollano Hydrogen Valley

A region with deep energy history and strong renewable potential, on the national hydrogen backbone and home to Spain's National Hydrogen Centre (CNH2). Impact Hydrogen set the strategic basis for establishing the valley and stood up its project management office.

Just Green AfrH2ica (JGA)

EU-funded (Horizon Europe/Clean Hydrogen Partnership) project building a just AU-EU green hydrogen transition roadmap. Impact Hydrogen works with the consortium on execution: skills development, a policy and technology integration roadmap, and EU-AU partnership advisory.

FLHY Hydrogen Valley

Start of involvement in the Flevoland Hydrogen Valley, a platform launched June 2023 with 70+ partners across agriculture, maritime, mobility, logistics and storage. In December 2024, Impact Hydrogen published the first two FLHY reports, covering the project's development and its own role.

Green Hydrogen Corridor: Namibia, South Africa, Netherlands

Impact Hydrogen is building a hydrogen corridor connecting the three countries: a stable regional hydrogen economy in Namibia/South Africa, linked to Western Europe via an export corridor. Runs the corridor's socio-economic impact study using its own phased Impact Framework.

Born from the gap that people in hydrogen-project regions often don't benefit from hydrogen themselves, still depending on carbon-intensive cooking fuels. A safe, easy-to-maintain hydrogen cooking device that also addresses the sector's chicken-and-egg demand problem.

Proposed under the Morocco-Netherlands MoU on renewable energy and green hydrogen: hydrogen ecosystem design for local socio-economic impact, plus a capacity-building and skills roadmap.

Hydrogen Learning Platform (HLP) launched

Courses from Impact Hydrogen and external professionals on hydrogen strategy and advisory, built to grow hydrogen capacity affordably, with certification on completion. Recently achieved EAHEA accreditation.

Algerian Hydrogen Valley Methodology project

At CERF's request following Algeria's roundtable at the World Hydrogen Summit 2024, Impact Hydrogen authored the first deliverable of Algeria's Hydrogen Valley Roadmap: mapping Algeria's National Hydrogen Development Strategy (2023-2040), its exceptional solar/wind potential, pilot projects, and stakeholders.

Antofagasta hydrogen roadmap

Antofagasta, in northern Chile, combines strong renewable potential with a deep mining history. Impact Hydrogen helped develop its 10-year hydrogen roadmap with Aguasol, covering local impact preparation, capacity building, and infrastructure.

QuickScan launched

A free online tool built with RVO (funded by TKI New Gas, with technical input from Essent) that gives companies and local authorities a fast read on whether a local hydrogen hub is technically and financially feasible, and what it would cost.
